Parent Date Night Ideas

Keeping the romance alive when you become a parent is not easy.  Crying babies, toddler tantrums can have a way of draining all of your romantic impulses. Date nights (whether they are at home or out on the town) are an important part of a relationship.

1. The daytime date “night.”

If you can organise something during the day chances are you will be more awake and alert so you can actually enjoy each other’s company.

 2. Get nostalgic.

Do something together that you enjoyed doing when you first met. It could be bowling, seeing a play or going to a concert. Doing an activity that’s a “blast from the past” can help you reconnect.

3. Picnic in the garden or the lounge

Take a picnic basket fill it with your favourite goodies include  a bottle of bubbly or if you prefer soft drinks!  Grab a picnic blanket and sit indoors or out if possible. Fingers crossed the sun will be shining.

4. Try something new

Try an activity the two of you have never done. Maybe that’s taking a cooking class, or a dancing lesson.

5. Exercise together.

This is a great way to de-stress and work together on your health goals. Afterwards share a smoothie!

6. Play a Board Game

Board games are an easy way to connect with your man. Who doesn’t enjoy a little competition? Prepare a special snack or drink to share to add to the fun.One of the most successful games of all time, Settlers of Catan is a trading and building game set in the mythical world of Catan. Players assume the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players are rewarded points as their settlements grow and the first to reach a set number of points is the winner.

7. Take a walk

Most major museums have days when the public is invited to visit for free. Take advantage of these days and meander through the exhibits with your partner.  It’s easy to take your city for granted. Get reacquainted with your hometown by spending an afternoon visiting the sites that make it special. I love walking in London it’s an incredible city!

8. Volunteer as a team. Find a cause that you and your spouse are passionate about and dedicate a few hours volunteering if you are able to plan ahead. There are few activities more fulfilling than helping others and you will enjoy doing good with your partner.
