Godstone Farm

We kicked off our Spring Bank holiday weekend by taking Jay to Godstone Farm for the very first time and we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon there. Mr M and I love animals and have noticed how Jay is fond of dogs in particular so we wanted to show him some more new animal faces!

Godstone village is really pretty  in the eastern part of Surrey near to the Kent and Sussex borders. After a short drive and reasonable entry charge fees we entered the farm straight away without having to queue and as the weather was sunny it felt great to be outdoors. Jay doesn’t like his hat or any hats for that matter so it was a bit of a challenge but I wanted to make sure he was protected from the sun.

There is a lovely selection of animals and the farm was well laid out giving you room to go at your own pace.  There are areas for petting animals and meeting the animal handlers as well as a Dino Trail.  I had never seen chipmunks before so that was a first for me! We also got see baby Troy the Shetland pony who entered the World this month.

There is a fantastic play barn with soft play and a large sandpit.  It was good to see plenty of hand washing facilities as we walked around. We stopped for mandatory tea and cake at the Tea Room but we had brought our own mini picnic.

If you’re looking for an outing with your own little chicks I highly recommend this place.

I never got the chance to go to a place like this when I was young and it’s definitely made me want to go to more farms (the big kid that I am) so any more suggestions would be very much appreciated!
