Owning your fashion style is a discipline that takes a little bit of work, but it’s also a powerful expression of who you are: a complex woman who’s constantly learning, changing and growing in age and in mind. We are definitely spoilt for choice with so many fabulous clothing retailers and whether you are happy in your comfort zone or doing a complete style overhaul, don’t be scared to switch it up a bit and take some risks. This fashion assignment has made me take a look at my current wardrobe and although I am not shopping for poppin crop tops, it’s fascinating to see the latest fashion trends and ongoing celebs’ street style.
I recently was offered the chance to collaborate with a current and forward thinking online fashion brand Femme Luxe Finery. Being in my early forties I have over the years seen a massive change in the fashion industry. I’ve always dressed according to my mood and I don’t follow fashion trends religiously. As a busy mum to a nearly five year old I am finally reclaiming back a bit of fashion exploration. I am excited to share the pieces I chose which I absolutely love and enjoy wearing. I’m part of a generation of consumers seeking more vibrant clothing, and the ease and convenience of making purchases online.
I would spend a good few hours weekly in my twenties hanging about in shops trying on clothes before the digital retail boom. Now like many I order clothing online as it is so very convenient. I found the Femme Luxe site easy to navigate around and was able to pick quality items which thankfully fit well. I am petite in size and this can often be a problem choosing items to suit but I am definitely impressed with the items arriving very quickly and more importantly the fit. Owning your style, means exploration so new colours, prints or even try on a bodycon dress for a night out (not so easy when you’re a mum but hey!)
~Give yourself permission to push the boundaries and have fun.
What I like about Femme Lux is that it’s affordable clothing for that next dress/outfit for a night out, day out, party, special occasion, any event or maybe just staying in at home. I am very much a loungewear loving girl always have and always will be. Comfort is something I am probably more likely to opt for and the set featuring cropped hoodie and long-legged pants is my weekend lounge attire being super comfy. Style with some cool trainers and you’re good to go should you wish to! This is probably my favourite out of the three items I selected. Super comfy and soft and who doesn’t love a monochrome. Check out the collection of relaxed fit loungewear sets and lounge outfits for the ultimate effortless fit. Stay snuggly and wrapped up in a long sleeved loungewear outfit or ‘flaunt what ya got’. To be honest I don’t know if I can get away with showing my midriff these days but as I love this set so much it’s not a problem.
Lounge it out in the Bardot Cable Knit Oversized Jumper. Made from a soft knit fabric. The ultimate off duty look is also my kind of style. I love pink and being a girly girl it’s definitely this sort of knitwear that I find comfortable. It does look as though I am drowning in this jumper but you know I kind of like it. I have always been a fan of knitwear and this little beauty didn’t disappoint. I’d probably get the grey and black in this style too.
If you like your dresses there’s a selection of lush split leg maxi dresses to laid-back t-shirt dresses. I have gone with knitwear again because you know it is winter but whatever you are after you won’t need to look further with the selection of the season’s latests. I probably wore more dresses prior to becoming a mum especially with my office job in London but I am trying to move away from the black legging look and with Spring on its way I hope we have more dress wearing weather!
The black dress is really comfy and hugs in the right places. I love the neck line design and straps almost halter style. I have a bardot knitted dress which I wore to death but this one has taken it’s place. Perhaps not one to wear out on a food shop but nice out to brunch or dinner.
Get your wardrobe in check this season with this knitted dress. Featuring a soft knit fabric, with long sleeves and a ruched front, team it with some lace-up heeled boots for a simple but chic look.
The clothing is so affordable and really on trend. I can’t wait to see how the Femme Lux Finery collection grows! A huge thank you to the team for this fun collaboration. As a result I am much more willing to try new styles and consider taking a double look at items that I don’t think would initially suit me. Sometimes you can surprise yourself! I would love you to check out the collection for yourself and please let me know if you decide to try anything.
